A History of Success

Ingenuity was founded by Carleton Wilkins in 2008 with the objective of becoming a brand strategy firm for medical practitioners. In the beginning we focused primarily on using social media to drive consumerism in medicine and our ability to utilize those platforms to steer patients toward our client practices. That’s a mouthful, sorry for the run-on sentence. By 2011, and with mostly orthodontists as clients, Ingenuity was increasingly involved in orthodontist branding and the practices’ brand alignment therein.

From practice material language and design, to new patient coordinator scripting, to internal marketing plans, Ingenuity was rapidly becoming the brand strategy firm that it was intended to be. But at the core of it all, Ingenuity has never been simply about creating strategies, rather, we fulfill the strategies we propose.

Since the beginning we’ve seen that most practices, small businesses themselves, are not equipped to both receive and implement the marketing plans in lieu of graphic design, social media expertise, creative content, brand identity and website design. As such most practices hire a host of vendors to fulfill each need, invariably leading to a lack of consistency and poor brand alignment. Thus Ingenuity.

Given our understanding of marketing for new patients and improving case acceptance, Ingenuity has found demand beyond the orthodontic vertical. From plastic surgery, to pediatrics, to general dentistry and sleep medicine, we have leveraged our brand alignment marketing approach to yield consistent success.
